Strategic Customer Group Inc. is recruiting for a Field Director, Regional and Government Accounts – Payers for the Midwest Region, covering key Commercial Payer Accounts in the following states: Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky. This is a field-based leadership role and residing in the Midwest regional coverage area is preferred. Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine Job Description Field Director, Regional Payer leads, collaborates, and directly manages an external team of Strategic Market Directors who are fully accountable for, and have primary responsibilities for the JJIM portfolio across Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid Payers, as well as leading internal coalitions to understand market influencers and mitigate potential risks. The Field Director is responsible for ensuring product access and profitability within Commercial Health Plans, PBM’s, and State Medicaid Accounts through direct interaction, coaching and guidance of their direct reports. The Field Director also serves as a thought leader and expert resource for specific areas of expertise in the local market, across the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine therapeutic areas and portfolio of products and navigates alignment with internal SCG Value, Access, and Pricing and brand teams on strategies to achieve product access. The Field Director counsels on contractual terms and determines corrective action to remediate any identified deficiencies or reported disputes. The Field Director ensures that customized business plans, strategic goals and objectives, and account plans are developed for each stakeholder that aligns with Regional, National, and Company goals. The Field Director communicates strategically to highlight initiatives, activities, and achievements that bring positive visibility to the organization. This person is responsible for managing operational aspects of their teams (e.g., budget, performance, and compliance), as well as implementing workforce and succession plans to meet business needs. The Field Director hires, develops, assesses, trains, and motivates team members to achieve business and professional developmental goals and objectives. They coach others to effectively convince internal and external stakeholders to build mutual alignment, adopt difficult positions, and achieve outcomes that are both customer-centric and company.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Five years of account management experience required.
  • Three or more years of people management experience within healthcare required, preferably within pharmaceutical, medical/surgical or device account/sales management required.
  • Experience leading a customer-facing team, managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively leading and developing direct reports is strongly preferred.
  • This Field Director position is field-based and covers; Commercial Health Plans, PBM’s, and State Medicaid Accounts and requires up to 50% travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health plans, payer contract negotiations, and contract implementation is strongly preferred.
  • Johnson & Johnson therapeutic area and product knowledge preferred.
  • Prior experience working with key stakeholders at the Director and Senior Management level preferred.
