About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and technically curious Field Demo Program Intern to support the execution of our demonstration program for advanced autonomous Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). This internship, lasting up to up to 6 months, provides hands-on exposure to cutting-edge maritime autonomy technology and the opportunity to assist with live demonstrations for U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and other government stakeholders. The intern will work closely with the Field Demo Program Manager and engineering teams to support preparation, logistics, and field operations for USV demonstrations. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in maritime systems, robotics, defense technology, or operational program management. The position may involve travel to demonstration sites, exposure to real-world operational environments, and the opportunity to interact with defense and government customers.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in engineering, robotics, maritime studies, business operations, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in autonomous systems, defense technology, or maritime operations.
  • Valid boating license or state boating safety certification preferred.
  • Mechanical or technical aptitude with the ability to learn complex systems quickly.
  • Ability to work in hands-on environments including docks, boats, and field sites.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and support field demonstrations when required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and setup of USV platforms and supporting equipment for demonstrations and testing.
  • Support the Field Demo Program Manager during live demonstrations for military and government stakeholders.
  • Help coordinate logistics including equipment preparation, transport, and staging of demo assets.
  • Assist with routine inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of demo vessels and supporting systems.
  • Support inventory management for tools, spare parts, and demo equipment.
  • Help maintain demo vehicles, trailers, and related operational gear.
  • Document demo activities, capture lessons learned, and support reporting back to engineering and leadership teams.
  • Assist with basic configuration updates and system checks under supervision
