About The Position

The Field Data Collector position at NORC involves collecting data through field interviews for the Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF) project. This role is part-time and flexible, requiring individuals to engage with diverse populations to gather essential financial information that informs policy decisions. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in field interviewing, sales, hospitality, marketing, financial services, real estate, tax preparation, teaching, or customer service is preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Comfortable contacting people in-person at their homes, often without notice.
  • Ability to travel for 3-day in-person training sessions in Greater Chicago, NYC, or Los Angeles area.
  • Must complete a background check and provide I-9 documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in research or data collection is a plus.
  • Familiarity with using tablets and mobile applications for work tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-person interviews with respondents to collect data for the SCF project.
  • Utilize a NORC-provided tablet and applications for data entry and communication.
  • Attend all required virtual and in-person training sessions.
  • Work a flexible schedule of 15 - 25 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and submit reports as required.

  • Pay range of $19.00 - $28.41 per hour based on experience and location.
  • Additional earnings of $50 - $100 biweekly for meeting training and performance standards.
