Additional information about the company can be found online at www.bwpipelines.com. We are currently looking for a Field Cyber Communications Specialist I in our Lake Cormorant, MS office. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This role will be responsible for duties that consist of, but are not limited to, performing the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the following equipment and associated services throughout the assigned area: Field Cyber Communication Duties SCADA Radio telemetry systems including 220 MHz, 450 MHz, 900 MHz licensed and unlicensed systems Wireless point-to-point systems including licensed 2 GHz, 6 GHz and 11 GHz systems Data Concentrator/RTU facilities Wired & wireless networking and LAN/WAN equipment including routers & switches Telephone Voice-Over-IP, & voice mail systems Cellular data radio equipment Solar power packages (12VDC & 24VDC) Support AC & DC power systems including battery chargers and rectifiers VSAT equipment for real-time SCADA Telcom circuits – both fiber and legacy T1s Interplant fiber optic cable networks, and other hardwire cable circuits Security systems to include remote cameras, DVRs & automated gate opening equipment Applicable UHF & VHF two-way radio facilities Tower and shelter site maintenance Applicable tower lighting control equipment Ensure facilities operate in compliance with FCC & FAA rules and guidelines Site alarm and monitoring systems This position will be expected to periodically work extended hours and to respond to call-outs after hours and on weekends; overnight travel will be required. The qualified candidate will report to the group Supervisor on all employee-related issues.

Requirements

  • 1-3 year’s technical expertise in field Communications work in the Utilities or Wireless industry, or equivalent experience
  • Strong technical aptitude and proficiency in PC usage hardware, software & LAN equipment
  • Working knowledge of basic AC and DC power fundamentals
  • Knowledge of basic grounding principles as applied to equipment, AC and DC power
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at a time
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule assigned tasks with optimum efficiency for the greatest benefit to Boardwalk
  • Adaptive to a fast-paced environment that often requires short deadlines and changing priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes to break down and resolve complex technical issues
  • Knowledge of F.C.C. rules and regulations as applicable to licensed radio systems equipment
  • Excellent verbal communications and documentation skills
  • Ability to discuss technical issues in common, logical terms with all levels of corporate and field employees
  • Must be highly self-motivated and experienced in working independently with little or no direct supervision
  • Ability to pick up and carry test equipment and materials up to 50 lbs. for 50 ft.
  • Ability to work outside in hot, cold, muddy and wet environments, and ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Maintain a high level of emphasis on personal safety and the safety of company employees, assets, and the general public
  • Adaptable to organizational change
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two-year applicable Associate degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • FCC license
