About The Position

The Highway Barrier Laborer reports to the Concrete Safety Systems (CSS) Manager and is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and removal of highway barriers during day and night-time operations. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, night-time environment.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work night shifts
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions
  • Basic understanding of traffic control and work zone safety
  • Willingness to travel to different job sites and stay out of town for short periods as required
  • Previous experience in construction, road work, or related fields
  • Familiarity with concrete barrier systems and installation techniques

Responsibilities

  • Install, reposition, and remove concrete barriers on highways and construction sites during night shifts
  • Conduct pressure washing, repairs, and staining of concrete barriers as needed
  • Ensure proper safety protocols are followed at all times, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily project goals and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist in loading and unloading of concrete barrier
