About The Position

The Field Construction Coordinator Sr. is responsible for coordinating with Oncor locate contractors, excavators, and call center (Texas 811) to efficiently and safely locate underground facilities to minimize outage times, minimize Oncor's costs associated with dig-ins, and maximize reliability and successful claims. This position is based out of our West Distribution Operations Center (WDOC) in Fort Worth and being on call is a requirement for this role.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of safe work practices relating to confined space entry, trench safety, and Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulation
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required
  • 5 or more years of directly related experience is required

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the safety of Oncor employees, contractors, public, and themselves while on site
  • Responsible for performing damage investigations on damaged Oncor underground facilities, determining fault, and documenting the findings for the Metro Dallas Fort Worth area (By phone in non-metro areas)
  • Acts as a liaison between Oncor and around 300 locate contract employees, supervisors, and managers to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner (This includes, but is not limited to providing as-built prints, emergency locates, and field audits)
  • Responsible for resolving all locate issues between Oncor, the public, locate contractors, and excavators for the Metro Dallas Fort Worth area (By phone in non-metro areas)
  • Works closely with Oncor Claims and legal departments by providing subject matter expertise and documentation needed to settle and/or resolve claims on damaged underground facilities (This may include depositions and court testimony)
  • Works closely with contract locate company claims department to limit the amount of denied claims
  • Responsible for notifying United States Infrastructure Company (USIC) of dig/in
  • Research and resolve in a timely manner any late or no response tickets for all parties including but not limited to contract locate company, Texas 811, and excavators
  • Responsible for the update and accuracy of the Optimal Claims Recovery (OCR) database
  • Performs field inspections of overhead and underground facilities when requested
  • Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements
