About The Position

Zachry Engineering Corporation, (ZEC) is seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will work on construction sites and be responsible for monitoring construction activities associated with building industrial facilities. This hands-on role requires strong technical skills and often involves working closely with construction crews and resolving issues that arise during construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 6 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.
• Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.
• Experience with Roadway / Paving design & specifications.
• Geotechnical knowledge (soil placement and compaction, sitework prep, roadway / heavy haul paving design).
• Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills (Verbal and Written).
• Experience with heavy civil sitework and grading construction and soil compaction.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer licensure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review construction drawings and specifications and ensure contractor performs grading and compaction operations in conformance with the lines and grades shown on the drawings and according to the specifications.
• Monitor installation of stormwater system in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with installation of erosion control devices.
• Coordinate with contractor and home office engineering on contractor request for information.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.
