About The Position

GuidePoint Security (GPS) is seeking a highly respected, mission-driven Field Chief Information Security Officer (Field CISO) to support and elevate our Federal business. This role serves as a strategic cybersecurity advisor to senior federal executives and a key partner to our Federal Sales, Capture, and Delivery teams. The Field CISO helps federal agencies modernize their cybersecurity posture, adopt Zero Trust strategies, and accelerate secure digital transformation. This is a customer-facing executive role that blends technical leadership, mission expertise, and business influence to strengthen GPS position across the federal marketplace.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity leadership roles; federal experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record serving as a CISO, Deputy CISO, Senior Cyber Executive, or equivalent advisory role in the federal government or federal integrator environment.
  • Deep expertise in Zero Trust Architecture, cloud security, identity & access management, data protection, SOC operations, AI-enabled defense, and security governance.
  • Strong understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks, mandates, and oversight bodies (OMB, CISA, NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into mission-aligned executive guidance.
  • Clearance: Active Secret/Top Secret SCI Preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to federal CIOs, CISOs, SES leaders, mission owners, and system integrators.
  • Lead executive briefings, workshops, and strategy sessions focused on Zero Trust, cloud security, identity modernization, AI/automation, SOC transformation, OT/ICS protection, and SCRM.
  • Represent GPS at federal conferences, panels, roundtables, and industry working groups.
  • Develop strategic thought leadership content (whitepapers, blog posts, webinars) aligned to federal priorities.
  • Partner with Federal Sales teams to identify mission challenges, shape opportunity strategy, and strengthen competitive positioning.
  • Support pre-sales engagements through executive-level conversations, architecture guidance, and alignment to federal cybersecurity mandates (EO 14028, OMB M-22-09, FedRAMP, TIC 3.0, NIST 800-53/207).
  • Participate in RFI/RFP responses, solution reviews, capture strategy, and customer presentations.
  • Build trust with senior government stakeholders to influence multimillion-dollar opportunities and accelerate deal closure.
  • Establish long-term, mission-focused relationships with federal cybersecurity leaders.
  • Provide strategic guidance on modernization of legacy systems, Zero Trust adoption, cloud migration, SOC automation, AI integration, and risk-based governance.
  • Conduct maturity assessments, gap analyses, roadmap development, and executive-level briefings.
  • Support federal agencies navigating compliance-to-risk transitions.
  • Work closely with GPS Service Delivery teams, SMEs, and Practice Leads to align services and solutions to federal mission needs.
  • Provide feedback on service development, product alignment, and market opportunities within the federal ecosystem.
  • Mentor internal consultants and support talent development through knowledge-sharing and executive engagement.
  • Help GPS differentiate itself by delivering trusted, senior-level cybersecurity expertise in federal engagements.
  • Strengthen GPS’ federal brand through speaking engagements, panel discussion participation, interviews, partner forums, and advisory contributions.
  • Identify trends across civilian and defense agencies to inform strategic planning and solution innovation.
