About the position

The Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the vision, securing business outcomes/value realisation, and leading the customer’s transformation strategy from top down. The role will also be overseeing the technical direction, innovation, and establish the bridge between strategy and delivery. Leading a transformation journey as a Field CTO involves driving the governance and technical aspects of the transformation and ensuring that the customer is well-positioned to embrace and leverage the new way of working. Key aspects of the role include Business, IT and IFS Solution Strategy, Technical Guidance and Expertise, Collaboration and Stakeholder Management, Commercial Acumen, Technology Implementation and Execution, Value Creation, Risk Management and Compliance, and Change Management. The Field CTO plays a crucial role in shaping and driving the customer’s transformation journey, driving innovation, and ensuring that the governance and technology initiatives align with their business objectives. This role requires continuous monitoring, measuring, and adjusting to keep the core team aligned and focused within a customer’s ever-changing landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the governance and technical aspects of the transformation.
  • Oversee the technical direction and innovation.
  • Lead the customer’s transformation journey.
  • Develop and drive the technology strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical strategies with business goals.
  • Engage with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and adjust as necessary.
  • Establish and enforce technology governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support and mentor the Core Team, fostering a culture of excellence.

Requirements

  • Significant practical and management experience in the enterprise software industry.
  • Commercial solutioning experience.
  • Several years of hands-on technical experience.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Understanding of key industry trends.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or information technology.
