About The Position

The Category Manager is responsible for supporting national and regional strategic direction, focusing on local assortment and planogram execution. This role involves making frontline pricing decisions, managing vendor operations and relationships, and implementing planograms. The Category Manager is tasked with actionable operational reporting, selecting local vendors, negotiating costs, and developing schematics in line with category management principles. The position aims to increase sales revenues through promotional concepts and overlay programs, while also contributing to team efforts to meet financial and key result area targets. The role includes establishing and monitoring gross margins, projecting sales volume and profit, and maintaining vendor relations. The Category Manager will also prepare annual category reviews, budgets, and operational reports, while maintaining professional knowledge through workshops and publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, business, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of experience or more preferred, including three years of management responsibility.
  • Expertise in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred.
  • Strong relationship management, analytical thinking, and financial acumen skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Prepares annual category reviews and budgets.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge.
