About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President of Category Leadership, you will improve category MAPS at the customer, build strong relationships with key decision makers to present category development plans, and collaborate with headquarter Category Leadership, Business Development, and Business Planning teams to develop impactful category strategies. You will manage new item presentation development and ensure shelving execution that is category-friendly, while identifying opportunities to strengthen competitive advantage and elevate Conagra Brands’ presence with the customer.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5+ years of related CPG industry category management experience in sales or a combination of sales and syndicated data experience (IRI/Circana, Nielsen)
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Experience in data integration and interpretation
  • Project management expertise
  • Proven success in flexing across multiple workstreams

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the customer interface at the category level, focusing on driving customer and company sales and profits
  • Partner with sales, marketing, insights, retail effectiveness, and other category leadership resources to implement category programs
  • Be an expert in Category Leadership tools and capabilities
  • Master customer loyalty card data to uncover actionable insights
  • Lead category strategy and review meetings with customers and support brand-based Category Leadership programs
  • Develop tools to diagnose new category opportunities
  • Identify opportunity gaps and build compelling cases and sales stories to close them
  • Provide consumer and category input during customer joint business planning (JBP) to refine plan elements
  • Enhance field sales capability to leverage insights effectively
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities for improved market advantage
  • Improve shelf position for brands while maintaining a shopper- and category-first approach
