About The Position
Progressive Maryland is a multi-racial political organization of working people fighting to transform our country. We elect candidates who share our values and organize campaigns to advance progressive policies and conduct outreach to voters to connect them with vital services to ensure their vote is counted! Together we’re building a movement to build a nation for the many, not the few. We can only do this together - join our team! The Field Canvasser is responsible for daily door knocking shifts in assigned turf. This is a part-time, hourly, temporary position through Election Day 2026. Hourly rates begin at $20.00 depending on experience.
Requirements
- People of all experience levels and backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Commitment to progressive politics and policies
- Ability to walk for long periods of time
- Great communication skills, professional decorum and demeanor
- Ability to read and synthesize scripted information
- Reliable daily access to transportation
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Prince George’s County, Montgomery County, and Baltimore City
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
Responsibilities
- Engage with registered voters in meaningful, one-on-one conversations at their door
- Complete daily walking shifts of 50-60 doors
- Work both individually and within a team environment to set and accomplish daily campaign goals
- Train and debrief daily with a manager
- Assist with preparation of walk packets, phonebanking, and other duties as assigned
