The Field Based Trainer position at the Central California Training Academy is a full-time role that involves working closely with Ventura County Children and Family Services (CFS) to deliver a competency-based child welfare training program. This position is part of a collaborative effort involving the California State University, Fresno College of Health and Human Services, the Central California Welfare Directors, and the California Department of Social Services. The trainer will be responsible for coaching both new and experienced social work staff, ensuring they effectively implement the Core Practice Model and adhere to agency outcomes as well as federal and state regulations. The trainer will conduct ongoing training and field-based coaching, arrange and schedule training sessions, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs. This role requires a strong understanding of child welfare practices and the ability to develop and enhance training materials. The trainer will also identify system issues and provide recommendations to CFS leadership to support agency outcomes. The position may require flexibility in hours, ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, depending on county needs. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a closely related field, along with significant professional experience in child welfare. Strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and familiarity with competency-based training models are essential for success in this role.
