About The Position

Reporting to the NE Technical Manager, Technical Services, you’ll partner closely with Sales to deliver high-quality technical expertise, consultancy, and representation for Oxford Nanopore’s products—ensuring successful adoption across academic, clinical, and biopharma accounts in Northern New England. What you’ll do Pre-sales advising: lead technical calls, onsite/virtual demos, seminars, and conference activities at key accounts. Drive successful onboarding: conduct site-readiness assessments; guide experimental design and sample prep; train users on devices, workflows, and software; support downstream data analysis. Own the technical relationship: manage technical success plans for strategic customers and remove adoption blockers. Partner with Sales: align on territory priorities, evaluation criteria, and timelines; provide timely feedback to accelerate deals. Document rigorously: track enquiries, experiments, and outcomes in CRM; capture competitive and market insights. Represent in the field: help organize and run workshops, roadshows, and exhibitions.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Life Sciences, Genomics, Cell or Molecular Biology (PhD welcome but not required)
  • strong foundation in genetics/molecular/cell biology
  • practical + theoretical knowledge of experimental design and sample prep (e.g., DNA/RNA isolation, fragmentation, library workflows)
  • comfort discussing complex genomics topics with experienced researchers
  • ability to translate needs into workable protocols
  • confident delivering group trainings and 1:1 coaching
  • excellent troubleshooting, writing, and documentation skills
  • thrives in fast-paced, multi-tasking environments
  • organized and responsive with strong interpersonal skills
  • proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce (or similar CRM)

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in a relevant field
  • Commercial, customer-facing or technical support experience
  • Linux familiarity for data handling/analysis
