The Field Applications Engineer (FAE) track within the FAST (Field Applications & Sales Training) Program at Texas Instruments (TI) is a comprehensive 12-month experience designed to cultivate technical experts who can effectively engage with customers and internal teams. This program is part of the Career Accelerator Program (CAP), which aims to provide professional and technical training to ensure long-term career success at TI. Participants will undergo two six-month rotations that will immerse them in both field sales and systems engineering environments, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in customer-oriented careers that blend technical expertise with business acumen. In the first rotation, participants will work in the Field Sales Office (FSO), where they will learn to address technical challenges faced by customers. This hands-on experience will focus on maximizing TI's revenue by providing tailored systems-level solutions that meet customer design needs. Participants will analyze technical trade-offs, understand component selection, and tackle design and cost challenges, all while building relationships with design engineering teams. The second rotation will take place in Systems Engineering & Marketing (SEM), where participants will gain insights into how various TI components integrate to create comprehensive solutions for customer designs. This rotation emphasizes technical product selection, schematic/layout capture, PCB layouts, fabrication processes, and board bring-up and validation. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will transition into full-time roles as Field Applications Engineers on TI's Worldwide Sales & Applications team, where they will be responsible for identifying potential projects, providing proactive proposals, and influencing customers' part selection processes to favor TI products.
