About The Position

This position is dedicated to supporting QIAGEN’s QIAstat-Dx instrument and chemistries in the field. Support will include instrument installations, customer training, evaluation monitoring, routine customer follow up, on-site troubleshooting, product demonstrations, and other pre- and post-sale technical support in the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of clinical lab experience, and/or 2-5 years within a field-based customer support function.
  • Deep knowledge of wet lab molecular biology methods/techniques in a clinical lab setting.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, including DNA/RNA purification, PCR, and sequencing.
  • A customer-facing personality, including the ability to build positive relationships and engage in scientific discussions with customers.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and solve customers’ technical problems by phone, email, webinar, and in-person.
  • Ability to integrate both internal and field-based resources to find creative solutions to customer requests. Organized and able to work independently as well as on a team.
  • Ability to travel 70% with anticipated overnights of 40%.
  • Territory: Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in molecular biology or a related field desirable.
  • Some familiarity with NGS applications would be helpful.
  • Experience with CRM software (particularly Salesforce.com) highly desirable
  • Some project management experience is highly desirable.
