Job purpose The Field Application Scientist supports the sales and implementation of Discover Echo’s Cellcyte live cell imaging products by partnering with Regional Sales Managers to qualify opportunities, perform demonstrations, and assist with installations and customer training. The role also provides technical expertise to the sales team, contributes to sales strategy, and offers feedback on product improvements while supporting customers across Western North America with up to 70% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or related discipline required. Ph.D. preferred.
  • Two to five years of benchwork with live cell imaging or cell culture in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Ability to transfer knowledge to colleagues or junior members of team.
  • Flexible, creative, and able to work in a non-structured work environment
  • Demonstrated capacity to think “outside the box”.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills, including well-developed presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quotas and goals
  • Attention to details and time management skills
  • Located in California

Responsibilities

  • Assist RSM’s, when needed, in qualifying live cell imaging opportunities.
  • Executing onsite and virtual product demonstrations
  • Participating in live cell imaging forecast calls when necessary
  • Implement product training for sales team
  • Working with Sales management to implement effective sales strategies for live cell imaging products
  • Providing feedback on hardware and software improvements
  • Travel up to 70% to assist with demonstrations, installations and trainings
  • Covering western North America
