About The Position

The Sales Representative position at Grainger involves determining and presenting the Grainger Value Proposition to various accounts, focusing on enhancing customer purchasing needs and driving sales growth. The role requires creating effective territory plans, maintaining customer relationships, and utilizing multiple communication channels to maximize sales opportunities. The Sales Representative will report to the Field Sales Manager and is expected to meet performance targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of sales experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED; two or four-year degree preferred.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel and have occasional overnights (dependent on territory).

Responsibilities

  • Create a territory plan that optimizes call routes and maximizes time in the field.
  • Maintain account and customer contact, recording follow-up details in Grainger's CRM.
  • Proactively increase sales with each account using various communication channels.
  • Respond to customers' real-time needs.
  • Grow revenue to reported thresholds.
  • Achieve or exceed shared metrics of daily calls and customer face time minutes.
  • Report accurate information on overall results of customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities, negotiate sales, and manage needs and cost requirements.
