Growing together The New York Small Business Field Account Manager (FAM) is responsible for supporting brokers and General Agents who serve small business customers. This role focuses on building strong relationships with brokers, providing education, and ensuring smooth service delivery to help them meet the needs of their clients. The Field Account Manager acts as a key liaison between brokers and internal teams, addressing escalated service issues, monitoring trends, and delivering solutions that enhance broker satisfaction and retention. The SB Fam role in NY also supports the NY Small Group internal team on projects, reporting and tracking, as needed. Requirements

  • Active insurance license as required by law upon hire. If not licensed, can obtain within 30 days of hire
  • 1+ years of health insurance experience
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service or managing relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proven solid presentation skills in both small and large group settings
  • Proven advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work in a high-pressure, high-volume environment with self-supported attitude

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Human Resources or medical benefits
  • Familiarity with Salesforce products
  • Proven ability to work with external partners such as brokers and consultants

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultative resource for brokers and General Agents, offering guidance and support on products, processes, and service solutions
  • Conduct in-person meetings with brokers to review service performance, share insights, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct in-person Open Enrollment meetings in the NY NJ and CT Metro area
  • Communicate administrative updates, benefit changes, and wellness program initiatives to internal teams as needed for market distribution
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve escalated issues promptly and effectively
  • Educate brokers on available tools and resources to streamline their operations and improve their client experience
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and General Agents to drive engagement and loyalty
  • Collaborate with Sales Account Executives and other field-based staff to ensure alignment and consistency in service delivery
  • Represent UnitedHealthcare positively in the marketplace, demonstrating professionalism and expertise
