Requirements

Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or purchasing experience
High school diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License by the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Three or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or purchasing experience
Two or more years of banking experience
Experience with court filings, scheduling hearings, and reviewing minute entries and court orders
Experience with Trust/Fiduciary Accounting
Experience with iCIS for research and compliance tracking
Licensed Fiduciary with the Arizona Supreme Court
Proficiency in CGI Advantage Financial System

Responsibilities

Prepares and processes fiduciary accounts, payables, and recurring expenditures with accuracy and attention to detail
Manages and processes all claims and invoices for daily payments, ensuring complete and proper documentation at every step
Provides timely and accurate posting of receipts and disbursements in strict accordance with departmental segregation of duties
Performs Electronic Funds Transactions (EFTs) with precision and in compliance with all applicable standards
Manages the Positive Pay system through ongoing coordination with financial institutions, maintaining the integrity of every transaction
Monitors client account balances monthly to ensure the continuance of government income entitlements, with careful attention to over-resource threshold requirements
Reviews documents to determine applicability and accuracy prior to entry into county and department systems, serving as a critical quality control checkpoint
Creates and monitors all financial action requests through the department’s SharePoint system
Supports the broader Operations Division with financial expertise and collaborative problem-solving
Builds and sustains strong working relationships with staff, client providers, and representatives from state and local agencies
Serves as a knowledgeable and compassionate point of contact for the public, understanding that many individuals who interact with our department are navigating difficult circumstances
