FID Secured Lending (“FSL”) sits within Morgan Stanley’s Fixed Income Division and provides financing facilities to asset originators, aggregators and financial sponsors. FSL currently manages a portfolio backed by a diverse range of assets including private credit / corporate loans, fund capital commitments, consumer loans, residential and commercial mortgages, and infrastructure loans across the US, Europe, and APAC regions. Position Description: The Fixed Income Division (“FID”) Securitized Products Group is currently seeking an Analyst to work on all aspects of executing warehouse lending facilities. The role will include working with originators, servicers, external counsel, rating agencies and internal constituents in the securitization banking, credit, legal, compliance, tax and accounting policy divisions.

Requirements

  • Prior mortgage or structured finance industry experience
  • Working knowledge of residential mortgage credit, including basic understanding of rating agency criteria and mortgage securitization structures
  • Familiarity with structured finance and secured lending transactions
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Organizational expertise and attention to detail, with strong communication, reasoning and interpersonal skills; comfortable delivering in-person presentations to stakeholders of varying seniority
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in preparation, negotiation, and review of transaction terms with clients and external legal counsel
  • Understanding of rating agency criteria in relation to internal credit policies and Firm risk tolerance
  • Liaising with external counsel and internal constituents to shepherd warehouse facilities from start to finish, including working closely with Credit personnel to create internal memos and analysis necessary to seek approval for warehouse facilities and new products
  • Working closely with the securitization banking team in delivering mortgage finance solutions to clients across warehouse lending and securitization
