About The Position
The Fiberglass Insulation Installer position at ABS Insulating involves the installation of fiberglass insulation in various settings, including single-family homes, multifamily units, and commercial projects throughout the Myrtle Beach area. This is a full-time role that begins with hourly training pay, transitioning to piece pay based on performance, with average earnings ranging from $18 to $25 per hour. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with Saturdays required as needed. The company provides a truck and necessary equipment for the job, ensuring that installers have the tools they need to perform their duties effectively. In this role, installers are expected to deliver outstanding service to customers while adhering to safety protocols. Responsibilities include logging, loading, and unloading materials, conducting safety checks, and working in various environments, including tight spaces and on ladders. Installers will cut insulation materials to the required size and attach them using methods such as stapling, gluing, wiring, or nailing. Observing job site safety rules and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) requirements is crucial, as is the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as mandated by the job and supervisor. Additionally, maintaining tools and trucks is part of the job's responsibilities. Candidates should possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record, which may be required for certain positions. The physical demands of the job include the ability to use common hand tools, trowels, brushes, knives, scissors, saws, pliers, and stapling hammers. Installers must be capable of constant flexing, grasping, twisting, and lifting with both hands and arms throughout the day, as well as bending, twisting, and turning their bodies at the shoulders, waist, and knees to handle and install insulation materials.
