About The Position

Fiber Technician – Job Description Responsibilities Fiber Installation & Termination Install and terminate fiber optic cables for single‑mode applications Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors Terminate simplex and duplex fiber jumper cables Terminate and breakout outside plant (OSP) single‑mode fiber (e.g., Corning, CommScope) Terminate outdoor single‑mode fiber Understand and work with splice matrices Testing & Troubleshooting Test fiber using Fluke test equipment (including DTX‑1800) Perform OTDR testing to verify fiber integrity Troubleshoot fiber issues end‑to‑end and across the network using OTDR analysis Splicing Perform mechanical splicing on all fiber types Perform fusion splicing on all fiber types Complete building entrance splices, maintenance space splices, and direct‑buried splices Copper & Miscellaneous Perform basic copper termination as required Label all installations in accordance with company (IES) standards Provide all required testing results and documentation Skills & Experience Strong experience with single‑mode fiber installation and termination Proficiency with fiber testing tools (Fluke, OTDR) Experience with mechanical and fusion splicing Working knowledge of OSP fiber environments Ability to read and follow fiber design documentation and standards Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fayetteville, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Requirements

Strong experience with single‑mode fiber installation and termination
Proficiency with fiber testing tools (Fluke, OTDR)
Experience with mechanical and fusion splicing
Working knowledge of OSP fiber environments
Ability to read and follow fiber design documentation and standards
