About The Position
Southeast Utilities of Georgia, a Congruex company, is seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our construction team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This position is crucial for our operations, which involve full-service construction, repair, and emergency services related to Cable TV, Telephone, Fiber-Optic communications, and Power construction. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for performing tasks associated with both aerial and underground construction, specifically focusing on the splicing of fiber optic cables and communication systems for cable television. In this role, you will read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings, and cut sheets to determine the sequence of tasks to be completed. You will be involved in repairing or splicing in new lines as needed to complete the testing and certification of projects. The position requires the installation of all passive and active devices, enclosures, and term panels, as well as testing fiber optic lines for balanced signals between points. You will also be responsible for pulling fiber optic cables through existing duct packages and conduits, splicing and activating underground and aerial lines, and optimizing new nodes to reduce capacity. Safety is a top priority, and you will ensure that all work considers the safety of customers and the public while complying with all governmental orders. The role may also require you to perform additional duties as required by the company.
