About The Position
Mason Technologies is seeking a skilled Fiber Optic Technician to join our team in New York, NY. As a Fiber Optic Technician, you will be responsible for the physical installation of fiber and other low-voltage materials, including structured cabling systems, audio-visual systems, paging/telephone systems, and security systems. This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with fellow technicians, lead technicians, and project managers to ensure that all installations meet the high standards of quality that Mason Technologies is known for. In this position, you will be tasked with terminating fiber through Unicam ribbon fiber splicing, air-blowing/jetting fiber, and pulling low voltage cable. You will also be responsible for submitting daily reports to the office to outline project status and work performed. It is essential to interface with customers on each job site, representing Mason Technologies with respect and integrity. At the end of each day, you will be expected to leave each job site clean and organized, ensuring that all work areas are spot-checked at the completion of each project. We are looking for experienced candidates who have a minimum of five years of experience handling fiber optics and possess extensive knowledge in installation and troubleshooting of these systems. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, the ability to lift over 50 lbs, and be capable of bending, lifting, crouching, and leaning over for long periods of time.
