About The Position
The Fiber Optic Splicing Technician is responsible for outside plant fiber optic cable splicing, including both ribbon and loose tube fiber. This role involves the installation of splice closures, conducting fiber testing, troubleshooting, and repair, as well as generating test reports. The technician will coordinate daily crew activities, maintain a safe work environment, and ensure quality production rates while adhering to company safety practices. This position is field-based and requires hands-on expertise in fiber optic technology and equipment.
