About The Position

MCS is hiring a Fiber Optic / Low Voltage Technician Work will be performed in restricted SCIF environments — adherence to security protocols is mandatory. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits. Typical duties include: Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling within SCIF-rated pathways Install overhead and wall-mounted cable tray systems to support cabling infrastructure Terminate, splice, and test singlemode and multimode fiber (Corning systems) Conduct OTDR, power meter, and continuity testing with detailed reporting Install racks, patch panels, grounding systems, and secure cable management hardware Read and interpret SOWs, site drawings, and security compliance guidelines Follow strict SCIF access, escort, and material handling protocols Perform work in accordance with BICSI, TIA, and DoD standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years low-voltage / structured cabling experience
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing
  • Experience installing cable tray, conduit, and grounding systems
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be eligible for DoD background check and SCIF access

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work in government, military, or high-security environments preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 - Preferred
  • BICSI Installer 2, Fiber or Copper- Preferred
  • Corning, CommScope, or Panduit Certification
  • Active DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher preferred)
