About The Position

The Fiber Optic Construction and Inside Wiring Technician role at J & L Low Voltage involves working with multiple Internet Service Providers to deliver Fiber to the Unit (FTTU) technology to multifamily and commercial customers. The position is open to both experienced and entry-level candidates, with training provided for the right individuals. Technicians will engage in both retrofitting and new construction projects primarily in Iowa and surrounding Midwestern states.

Requirements

• Driver's License (Required)
• Electrical experience preferred
• Knowledge of Ethernet construction and low voltage cabling

Responsibilities

• Pulling and terminating Fiber Optic Cable at DMARC/Inside Unit.
• Creating pathways utilizing attic and crawl spaces.
• Testing and turning up ONT and router equipment.
• Performing some outside and ladder work, requiring the ability to carry a 28' ladder.
• Using hand tools and specialty tools provided.
