About The Position

The FIAR Consultant Senior Manager provides support to Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives across financial operations, internal controls, asset valuation, and audit engagement activities. The role focuses on strengthening internal control environments, supporting external audit coordination, ensuring mission-critical asset accountability, and advancing compliance with federal financial management regulations. This position serves as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders and leadership, applying technical accounting expertise, audit remediation experience, and data-driven analysis to achieve sustainable audit readiness and operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field)
  • Must have Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience
  • Experience supporting Department of War or Federal financial environments
  • Knowledge of OMB Circular A-123, FIAR Guidance, and DoD Financial Management Regulation (FMR)
  • Familiarity with asset valuation, property accountability, or capital asset reporting
  • Ability to analyze business processes and identify control gaps and risks.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, Excel, automation tools)
  • Candidates must have the above clearance level and, at a minimum, be able to maintain this clearance during their employment with Montcure.

Responsibilities

  • Support Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives by evaluating internal controls, conducting control testing, and implementing corrective actions to remediate deficiencies across financial processes and assessable units.
  • Serve as an audit liaison between stakeholders and external auditors by coordinating documentation requests, facilitating responses, supporting audit engagements, and maintaining audit response tools and repositories.
  • Provide mission-critical asset valuation and accountability, including analysis of financial and acquisition data, maintenance of valuation models, and development of controls to ensure accurate reporting and audit compliance.
  • Play a valuable role in developing and delivering training related to audit readiness, internal controls, and financial processes, enabling stakeholders to sustain compliance and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Perform data analysis to identify risks, trends, and process improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of automation, dashboards, and metrics to enhance financial management performance.
  • Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for leadership to support decision-making, audit remediation progress, and compliance monitoring.
