About The Position

NOVOS FiBER, a leading provider of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) internet services, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fiber Engineer with a specialization in FTTH Design and GIS platforms. This role is necessary to ensure projects maintain standardization and follow municipality guidelines. The main duties of this position are listed below.

Requirements

• High school diploma and 3-4 years' experience or an Engineering Degree.
• Past experience working with ISPs in network design and GIS systems.
• Skills in AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to sit for 8 hours a day, occasionally getting to the work location and walking the job.
• Great teamwork, excellent communication, attention to detail, not afraid to ask for help.
• 3-4 years of experience with fiber design and GIS platforms.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Certification - Any are welcome, but none are required.

Responsibilities

• QA/QC of OSP engineering fiber plans created by engineering partners.
• GIS record system updates and maintenance.
• Assisting with permits for all jurisdictions within the project locations.
• Keeping up to date with the latest available fiber equipment.
• Ability to understand fiber optic network layout and give feedback.
• AutoCAD drafting may be needed for minor adjustments.
• Staying up to date on equipment spec and ensuring the design is efficient.
• Ensure the design follows the approved permit.
• Ensuring the shape file upload matches the planned build and can upload to IQGEO with minimal correction.
• Constant updates to IQGEO as the fiber network progresses.
• Review all guidelines set by each municipality in each market.
• Assisting with permit packages and submittals.
• Review permits before submittal to ensure faster approval from municipalities.
• Keep up to date with the latest product list from Hexatronics and understand how it should be designed.
