About The Position

Overseen by the Director, Fee For Service (FFS) Therapist conducts assessments, diagnoses mental health disorders, and develops personalized treatment plans for their clients. They provide counseling, therapy, and support to individuals, groups, and families, helping them address and manage their mental health concerns. FFS Therapist’s goal is to improve their clients’ well-being and help them lead healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required
  • At least 2 years’ experience providing individual, group or family therapy to individuals with mental illness
  • LMHC, LMSW, LCSW strongly preferred
  • If Licensed, a valid and active NPI, and registration with the Office of Professions required
  • Non-licensed therapist within a year from obtaining a license
  • Proficient computer skills strongly preferred
  • Must be efficient, well organized, and have excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and satisfy criteria to be a driver for the organization

Responsibilities

  • Provides initial assessments, diagnoses, and routine appointments to individuals, families and/or groups.
  • Maintains and completes responsibilities of client caseload including but not limited to treatment plans, progress notes and assessments.
  • Establishes positive, trusting rapport with clients.
  • Diagnoses and treats mental health disorders.
  • Creates individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances.
  • Meets with clients regularly to provide counseling, treatment and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments of clients progress.
  • Involves and advises family members when appropriate.
  • Refer clients to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling, as needed.
  • Maintains thorough records of client meetings and progress.
  • Ensures documentation meets quality and compliance thresholds as set by regulation and/or Agency guidelines.
  • Utilizes electronic medical record to complete required documentation as required by regulation and within mandated time frames.
  • Acts as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Prevents, recognizes and reports abuse toward the people we support.
  • Takes part in new treatment initiatives including but not limited to, integrated care, and co-occurring disorders treatment.
  • Assists the Clinic Management in reporting activities including but not limited to Pscykes, OMH, Financial and County reporting requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
