About The Position

The Clinical Director, under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health, is responsible for the clinical guidance and management of Family Focused Recovery at Canal Landing. This individual will directly supervise the clinical, nursing and support staff providing admission, crisis intervention, assessment, person-centered care planning, therapy, peer support, wellness support, and coordination of care for the families residing at the residential center. This individual will provide clinical consultation and supervision to the team, to ensure pregnant and parenting women who use substances and their children receive high quality care. This individual will work closely with other supervisory and administrative staff to ensure efficient and high-quality service provision for all persons served by the program. As the residential center opens, the Clinical Director must be flexible and support the team in successful launch and scaling of services.

Requirements

Master’s degree in social work or counseling and current Louisiana licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Maintenance of all requirements to provide telehealth services on an ongoing basis.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
At least 2 years of experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders.
Successful completion of Peer Support Specialist Supervisor training (may be completed after hire).
Extensive knowledge of the substance uses disorder continuum of care available in the Greater New Orleans area.
Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced computer skills.
Expertise within Electronic Health Systems.
Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a respectful manner, remaining flexible, proactive, and task oriented.
Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and prioritizing skills.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation (not all convictions will exclude candidates from being hired).
Must pass drug screening tests as required by agency’s policies and procedures.
Must complete tuberculosis (TB) screening prior to employment and be free from Tuberculosis (TB) in a communicable state via skin testing (or chest exam if recommended by physician).
Must be able to maintain First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and seizure assessment training.

Responsibilities

Support the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health in the successful design and implementation of programming across American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) residential levels of care (3.5, 3.3, and 3.1) and aftercare peer support services.
Support the Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health in the successful completion of the Implementation and Evaluation Phases of the Regional Partnership Grant (RPG), including adherence to RPG Research requirements.
Work closely with other supervisory and residential center staff to ensure the provision of team-based care for all persons served is high quality, efficient, and in compliance with all accreditation and funding source requirements.
Provide onboarding, training, ongoing supervision and quality monitoring of the clinical and support staff to ensure provision of services are in line with best practices.
With the Assistant Vice President of Integrated and Behavioral, ensure all operational policies and procedures, training manuals, other supportive training documents, resources and succession plans are updated on a timely basis to ensure accuracy for staff.
Manage clinical, nursing and support staff schedule, ensuring coverage of all groups and operational functions required per Louisiana Department of Health Behavioral Health Standards and ASAM level of care, including adequate coverage over holidays and during Emergency Operation Plan enactments.
Conduct required admission, assessment and screening instruments to diagnose persons served with behavioral health disorders and develop person-centered care planning with persons served to guide service delivery in line with best practices based on the individualized needs of each person served.
Provide direct counseling and crisis intervention services to persons served, utilizing individual, family, and group evidenced-based practices.
Utilize concurrent documentation and record accurate information in the EHR of each person served within 1 business day. Ensure accurate, timely, and quality data entry is completed by supervisees. Ensure documentation is completed in compliance with all accreditation and funding source requirements.
Work closely with financial team to ensure clinical and support staff are documenting all services provided to ensure maximum revenue generation and recording key performance indicators (KPIs).
Ensure clinical staff complete utilization reviews, including prior authorization and concurrent reviews, by established deadlines to ensure persons served receive the medically appropriate level of care for the maximum amount of time in accordance with ASAM Criteria based on their individualized needs and DSM diagnostic criteria.
Ensure nursing staff complete nursing screening, nursing assessment and wellness care coordination duties for all persons served. Ensure nursing staff address pharmacological needs including medication tracking and observation of the self-administration of medications by persons served.
In coordination with the Head Chef, ensure residents are learning meal preparation and cooking skills in the Learning Kitchen. Ensure any behavioral issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including Louisiana Department of Health Harm Reduction Hub, Medicaid Application Center, DCFS Community Partner Bronze Site, Junior League of New Orleans Diaper Bank, Saul's Light Little Library and other contracts as established.
Facilitate ordering of needed program supplies within established budget, in coordination with the House Manager and/or Assistant Vice President of Integrated & Behavioral Health.
Keep current in the arena of substance use disorder treatment, including harm reduction principles. Provide education, training, and support to staff on substance use disorders, mental health disorders and other topics as needs dictate.
Collaborate with community partners regarding continuity of care to develop referral relationships to ensure persons served completing residential treatment are able to sustain positive gains and exit with stable housing, employment/education plans, income, medical care, behavioral health care and other needs met.
Responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures and practices of VOASELA and all governmental regulatory agencies are met.
