About The Position

The position involves working Sunday to Thursday from 5pm to 1:30am. The essential functions include identifying and resolving safety issues on the floor, addressing escalated safety issues from Operations Supervisors, and completing safety observations to build a culture of safety. The role requires partnering with corporate and support functions to determine daily workload and evaluate staffing needs to meet daily demand. The individual will provide leadership, promote a culture of high performance, onboard and train supervisors, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The position also involves reporting on key performance metrics, collaborating with other operational shifts, and identifying needs for efficient operations. The individual will be responsible for key operations performance metrics and will assist in implementing process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 3 years’ experience in distribution center operations or related area, or 7 years of experience in distribution center/warehouse operations with increasing responsibilities if education requirement not met.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others.
  • Experience leading a team through change.
  • Proven record of complying with safety requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Experience managing resources, time, and budgets.
  • Experience using troubleshooting processes to resolve problems.

  • Experience taking a lead role in a Corporate-led initiative.
  • Leadership experience in another Lowe’s supply chain network facility.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and resolves safety issues on the floor and notifies the appropriate party for resolution.
  • Addresses safety issues or trends escalated from inbound/outbound Operations Supervisors.
  • Completes safety observations and builds a culture of safety in the work environment.
  • Partners with corporate and support functions to determine the daily workload for the day.
  • Evaluates staffing needs to meet daily demand and allocates resources accordingly.
  • Provides inspired leadership for the organization.
  • Promotes a culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Onboards and trains supervisors overseeing their performance.
  • Communicates effectively with inbound/outbound Operations Supervisors regarding business objectives.
  • Reports on key performance metrics to upper management and Store Support Center (SSC).
  • Sets Operations Supervisors up for success to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Collaborates with other operational shifts to ensure consistent processes.
  • Identifies and acts on needs for efficient operations and safety issues.
  • Responsible for key operations performance metrics of the shift.
  • Identifies and assists in implementing process improvements.
  • Attracts and hires talented individuals for the team.
  • Sets goals and communicates clear expectations for associates.
  • Monitors and manages associate performance.
  • Provides resources and support to associates as needed.
  • Assists Operations Supervisors with any issues that may arise.
  • Communicates effectively with associates regarding business objectives.
  • Provides associates with meaningful developmental opportunities.
