About The Position

This Fertigation Technician is responsible for proper plant nutrition and watering, along with data collection. The Fertigation Technician performs their duties in compliance with company policy, laws, and rules governed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA).

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent Card
  • Basic math skills to manage nutrient ratios and measurements
  • Ability to abide by safe chemical handling protocols
  • Understanding of and ability to follow chemical handling and mixing directions/ratios
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to sanitation and biosecurity rules
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, or as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Argus or Synopta
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft word and excel
  • Basic math, computer and technology skills

Responsibilities

  • Data collection and entry: related to environment, irrigation readings, and irrigation runoff.
  • Assessing & reporting plant health & hydration needs & irrigation data
  • Fertilizer mixing/PH adjusting: Accurately filling and mixing water for plants with nutrients and PH adjusting.
  • Irrigation system monitoring: Emitter/drain checks. Ability to create, troubleshoot and monitor irrigation equipment. Calibrating and using EC and PH meters to capture and check irrigation runoff to ensure accurate system dosing.
  • Identify and report signs of plant stress, nutrient deficiencies, pests, or diseases to the Cultivation Leadership/Integrated Pest Management (IPM) team.
  • Assist in monitoring water system equipment/reporting issues to Cultivation Leadership
  • Maintenance request posting
  • Collaborate with team members and adhere to all safety, sanitation, and operational procedures
  • Maintain and follow facility procedures
