GHD is seeking highly motivated and experienced FEMA Public Assistance Technical Specialists to join our team, focusing on FEMA disaster recovery projects. As a sub-prime contractor to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), we provide Technical Assistance in support of the Public Assistance (PA) Program. This program is crucial for the recovery efforts of various entities, including States, Counties, Municipalities, Tribal Governments, and Private Non-Profits, by offering grant assistance for debris removal, life-saving emergency protective measures, and the restoration of public infrastructure. The Public Assistance positions will be embedded within FEMA disaster locations, where you will provide essential technical assistance. Your responsibilities will include conducting site visits and damage assessments of disaster-affected infrastructure, collaborating with State and local governments to develop detailed damage descriptions, scopes of work (SOW), and cost estimates for restoration and hazard mitigation measures. You will also work closely with these entities to reach agreements on damage descriptions, scopes of work, and cost estimates, ensuring a smooth delivery of the program to applicants. This role requires a commitment to work in remote locations under disaster conditions, with a minimum deployment of 45-90 days and potential assignments lasting from 6 months to over a year.
