About The Position

The Intergenerational Freedom Futures Collective (IFFC) is an innovative model of youth–elder collaboration within a racial justice framework. Through monthly convenings, digital storytelling, systems mapping, and collaborative evaluation of long-term impact, IFFC deepens abolition-centered visions of safety, belonging, and accountability in St. Louis and beyond. The IFFC Fellow plays a critical role in building the infrastructure and relational ecosystem that supports this work. This position requires sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders—including youth leaders, community elders, grassroots organizers, educators, local institutions, and, at times, elected officials and policy influencers. The Fellow will contribute to strategy and reflection while curating documentation and narrative assets that shape internal learning and public understanding of the IFFC model. This role blends leadership and learning: the Fellow will gain hands-on experience in intergenerational movement-building and narrative strategy while supporting the development of frameworks, partnerships, and tools that position IFFC as a replicable model for justice-centered transformation.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in social justice, education, public policy, community development or related field required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in community engagement, organizing, documentation, and creative practice required.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to exercise judgement, engage across lines of difference, and contribute meaningfully to program learning and strategy.

  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office and related technology.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Co-coordinate and help facilitate monthly convenings of the IFFC, including logistics, agenda preparation, and reflection spaces.
  • Maintain strong communication and follow-up with youth and elder participants to support trust, belonging, and continuity.
  • Curate and synthesize a living digital archive of IFFC insights, key moments, and relational learnings.
  • Draft internal updates and public-facing storytelling through visuals, quotes, and impact summaries that uplift collective voices.
  • Contribute to development of public-facing materials such as reports, blogs, or journal submissions.
  • Assist in drafting the IFFC Toolkit – a replicable guide for launching intergenerational collectives rooted in justice, trust, and mutuality.
  • Collect, organize, and conduct initial thematic analysis of participant feedback and qualitative data to assess program impact.
  • Support systems mapping to identify how IFFC interventions intersect with education, juvenile justice, philanthropy, public safety, and related sectors.
  • Support the development of infrastructure and partnerships that allow IFFC to engage grassroots organizers, youth leaders, educators, local institutions, advocacy partners, and elected officials as part of a long-term strategy for justice-centered transformation.
  • Represent the values and mission of IFFC in settings that require professionalism, discernment, relational awareness, and the ability to translate insights across diverse audiences.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Operates safely in all conditions and follows policies and procedures.
