The main duties include, but are not limited to: · Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources within the company, to resolve complex problems, · Provide Electrical Design Authority engineering staff augmentation support to the Tritium Projects and Facilities for SRNS, · Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis; Operations, Maintenance, Project, Startup and construction support; walk downs; design reviews, development and generation of design input and output documents including but not limited to: · System Design Descriptions, requirements documents, Single Line Drawings; Electrical Equipment Lists; Control System Design; Control Schematics and Connection Diagrams; Electrical Equipment Specifications; Bulk Material Specifications; Circuit/Raceway/Wiring/Connection Design; Grounding; Heat Tracing; Fire Detection; Short Circuit Calculations; Arc Flash Incident Energy Analysis; Load Flow Analysis; and Electrical System Sizing Calculations, · Incorporat e advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning, · Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise, · Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise, · Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world, · Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers. · Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them, · Lead task teams for developing solutions to more complex problems, · Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management, · Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed, · Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements, · Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups, · Prepare reports for external publications,

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience, OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience, OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience.
  • Require having 15-20 years of design authority experience in the nuclear industry
  • Require having working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, ETAP, and OSHA requirements
  • Require having experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements (details below)
  • Ability to fulfill and promote L&A core values

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience on DOE sites and programs
  • Prefer having SRS Electrical Design Authority Engineering experience
  • Prefer having experience designing Lithium-Ion Battery System as redundant power
  • Prefer having or previously having DOE Q-clearance
