About The Position

The Feedyard Penrider is responsible for attending to cattle at the feedyard, ensuring their health and well-being through daily monitoring and maintenance tasks. This role involves operating various equipment and performing general feed yard duties, including cattle handling and pen repairs.

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of cattle health and handling.
• Strong horsemanship skills.
• Experience with feed yard operations.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with an agricultural background or a comparable field of study through formal education.

Responsibilities

• Attend to cattle at the feedyard.
• Water and perform pen repairs and general feed yard maintenance.
• Ride pens on horseback daily to monitor cattle health in all weather conditions.
• Cut out sick cattle from pens and move groups of cattle in and out of the feed yard.
• Process incoming cattle and doctor sick cattle as needed.
• Operate a tractor and feed truck on occasion.
