About The Position

Safely and efficiently operate, maintain, and repair feed mill equipment using preventive and emergency procedures to ensure timely feed production for turkeys. Support team members by promoting safety, quality control, customer service, productivity, and cost efficiency through active involvement in feedmill operations and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and preventive maintenance practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Boiler operating license required
  • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older (all plant positions)

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update preventive maintenance programs for all feedmill equipment
  • Document all maintenance programs and work performed
  • Maintain accurate inventory of equipment, including physical characteristics (type, serial number, shaft sizes, speeds, etc.)
  • Execute maintenance plans: Perform daily equipment inspections Complete regular greasing and oiling Report major jobs for scheduling and planning Identify and report parts needed for repairs Assist in planning manpower for large maintenance and equipment modification projects
  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical systems
  • Manage and update stock of replacement parts to minimize downtime
  • Maintain the maintenance shop in a clean and organized condition
  • Train co-workers on equipment maintenance and repair procedures
  • Be knowledgeable in all feedmill equipment operations
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Oversee operation of the steam generator (boiler): Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidelines Ensure soft water availability at all times Maintain proper operation of the hot water heating system Conduct monthly quality control tests and adjust equipment as needed Hold and maintain the appropriate boiler operating license
