About The Position
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Summary Plays a key role in the daily operation of the feedlot by supporting livestock care, facility upkeep, and overall yard efficiency. This position is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive environment for both cattle and crew.
Requirements

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situation.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clean, sanitary facilities by cleaning pens, scales, feed bunks, water tanks, drains, and troughs to support animal health and welfare.
- Perform routine repairs and general maintenance across the feedlot, helping keep equipment and infrastructure in reliable working condition.
- Operate the water truck to ensure proper livestock hydration and assist with dust control throughout the yard.
- Support daily operations by completing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to a smooth and efficient workflow.
