About The Position
The position involves various cleaning and maintenance tasks within the mill environment. Responsibilities include sweeping and cleaning assigned areas, assisting with unloading ingredients from rail cars and trucks, and managing feed spills. The role also requires performing ground keeping duties using landscaping equipment, maintaining air-driven equipment for cleaning, and utilizing high-pressure water hoses for washdowns. Additionally, the candidate will operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) to move pallets of ingredients and must adhere to safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). The job demands flexibility in working hours, including holidays and weekends, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions such as hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments. Candidates must also comply with biosecurity guidelines and maintain good housekeeping practices.
