About The Position

The role of Feed QA Lab Tech - part time is pivotal to ensuring that JBS Live Pork's nutrition team can formulate and deliver quality diets to our pigs every day. You will aid the full-time lab technician with the receiving, testing, and data entry for all complete feed and ingredient samples that are submitted to the lab. Ensuring quick turnaround times and data accuracy is of the utmost importance as the information generated from the feed lab is used to drive daily decisions.

Requirements

• Must be able to read/write English and authorized to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Basic knowledge of math
• Knowledge of MS Office products including MS Excel
• Ability to follow written procedures and established testing methods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Prior experience in production related work
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
• 2- or 4-year College degree in Agriculture, the Sciences, or related fields
• Lab experience
• Feed Mill experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct a range of tests (particle size, pellet durability, mycotoxin, and NIR) on feed and ingredient samples submitted to the lab
• Maintain accurate and error-free data entry as the information generated directly influences real-time nutrition decisions
• Assist full-time lab staff in conducting feed and ingredient analysis, ensuring a seamless workflow and timely data analysis and entry
• Maintain a clean and organized lab that meets or exceeds JBS Live Pork's standards
