About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the manufacture of quality finished feed through proper equipment operation and to execute and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule. The role involves daily inspection of the feed mill and boiler room, assisting the plant manager with the operations budget, and maintaining equipment records, plant diagrams, repair records, costs, and manuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical training in mechanics and computer skills.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• 2+ years of mechanical experience or experience in a feed mill.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with 3 phase electric systems and hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the manufacture of quality finished feed through proper equipment operation.
• Execute and maintain preventative maintenance schedule.
• Conduct daily inspections of the feed mill and boiler room.
• Assist the plant manager with the operations budget.
• Maintain equipment records, plant diagrams, repair records, costs, and manuals.
• Teach proper techniques and provide training on equipment to personnel.
• Run and manage the preventative maintenance system.
• Manage CER and major repair projects, communicating with vendors and contractors.
• Work closely with the mill team to find correct solutions for issues.
• Maintain and monitor M&R activities for the mill, gathering input from all managers and checking with operators.
• Create historical data files to help isolate problem areas in the future and make informed decisions.
• Promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
