About The Position

Lead the heart of our feed mill operations as a Feed Location Leader, guiding a dedicated team under the direction of the Feed Process and Quality Director and/or VP of Feed. In this role, you will take ownership of production, mixing, loadout, delivery logistics, and office administration while driving operational excellence and service every day. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
  • Or five to six years related experience and/or training.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training in supervisory skills, feed background and budgeting desired.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner, according to AgState Safety Policy and all OSHA/FDA/FSMA requirements.
  • Always utilize good customer service skills, when servicing and greeting customers, and when collaborating with co-workers and other departments within the company.
  • Listen to and resolve the more complicated/complex customer complaints and concerns and assist employees in resolving customer complaints or requests. May consult with customers on their product quality/standards and applications needed in their operation.
  • Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.
  • Schedule day-to-day production and assigning job responsibilities or ensuring scheduling takes place and production and delivery deadlines are being met.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, fellow location leaders, and team leaders to proactively assess and align staffing, equipment, and facility needs across feed mill and delivery operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-performing teams.
  • Prepare or review weekly inventory reports for distribution to accounting, team leaders, etc., on supplies, quality, and age of inventory.
  • Implement company policies, as well as ensuring feed and grain procedures, SOPS, quality checks and safety protocols are clearly established, updated and followed by ALL employees.
  • Train people to ensure location meets various government standards such as OSHA and FDA by conducting employee meetings to inform and educate.
  • Develop the budget for locations and monitor the financial performance of locations against the budget.
  • Monitor employee performance and ensure all employees comply with and operate location equipment in a safe manner and safety policies are being followed.
  • Able to handle day-to-day employee relations issues independently and effectively.
  • Perform general housekeeping--sweep and clean--warehouse and mill to maintain appropriate dust levels and maintain AgState’s image.
  • Ensure facility repairs are performed by staff such as patching small holes, replacing bearings and addressing small maintenance ensuring equipment reliability and uninterrupted feed production.
