About The Position

The Feed Laboratory Technician at Butterball, LLC is responsible for acquiring raw materials and composing animal-specific feed tailored to meet the diverse needs of turkeys. This role involves daily testing and record-keeping of feed-related ingredients and finished products, ensuring compliance with safety and biosecurity regulations while contributing to the overall success of the company.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Animal Science, Microbiology, Poultry Science, or related degree program/or work-related experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous feed laboratory testing experience.
• Must have a NC Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Daily testing and record keeping of feed-related ingredients and finished feed products for Butterball feed mills.
• Preparation of chemical solutions.
• General laboratory housekeeping.
• Operation of basic laboratory equipment used in the testing procedures for feeds and/or ingredients.
• Sample preparation, testing of ingredients and feeds, computation of results from testing procedures.
• Shipment of samples to other laboratories for external testing.
• Comprehension and use of all safety equipment used to properly conduct testing.
• Data entry and summary report generation.
• Compliance with OSHA and Butterball rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow all company regulations pertaining to biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety.
