The Work Study Veterans Resource Center Assistant will assist in the general daily operations of the VRC.This includes providing support to student visitors, the Student Services Coordinator, and supporting the VRC with basic administrative functions. This Federal Work Study position will support current students by providing opportunities for students to use the VRC and providing general assistance to student visitors to the VRC. In addition, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student’s educational program or vocational goals by providing opportunities for the Work Study Veterans Resource Center Assistant to enhance their organizational skills and learn customer service and basic administrative skills.

Requirements

  • Solid interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

  • Receive and greet visitors to the VRC
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Check students into the VRC
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Accept documents from students
  • Conduct tours of the VRC
  • Assist students with use of equipment
  • Ensure that the VRC is tidy and presentable
  • Assist with scheduled events in the VRC
  • Assist with general departmental administrative tasks
