About The Position

A part-time Medical Assistant/Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Technician is needed for a psychiatry practice. The role involves a combination of administrative and clinical duties. As a Medical Assistant, responsibilities include scheduling appointments, returning phone calls, and maintaining patient confidentiality. As a Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Technician, the individual will monitor patients during treatment, schedule patient treatments, maintain patient notes using a provided template, explain and administer procedures to patients following a script, and collaborate effectively with team members in a relaxed environment. A high degree of accuracy regarding details is essential.

Requirements

• Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University
• Approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate

Nice To Haves

• Training for TMS device (Neurostar) preferred, but not required
• No previous clinical experience required

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients during Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatment
• Schedule patient treatments
• Maintain patient notes following the provided template
• Explain and administer procedures to patients following the provided script
• Work well with other team members in a relaxed environment
• Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients and families
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Ensure a high degree of accuracy regarding details
