About The Position

This is a support position for the SUNY Upstate Brain Tumor Laboratory and Biorepository. The Aide will carry out a variety of support functions such as wet-lab assistance (preparing glassware, checking cultured cells, maintaining laboratory stocks, etc.), tumor bank organization (data entry, validation of medical reports), and inventory management (orders, reagents, and tissue specimens). After a year of successful lab work, skilled Aides will be offered the opportunity to engage in research projects if they have the interest and ability to do so.

Requirements

• Must be a current student enrolled at Upstate Medical University.
• Must be approved for financial aid through the Student Financial Aid office at Upstate.

Responsibilities

• Wet-lab assistance including preparing glassware, checking cultured cells, and maintaining laboratory stocks.
• Tumor bank organization involving data entry and validation of medical reports.
• Inventory management including orders, reagents, and tissue specimens.
