The Madlyn L. Hanes Library at Penn State Harrisburg is seeking Work Study student employees for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 semesters. Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements.
Requirements
- Must have a 25/26 Federal Work Study Award to apply.
- A cover letter listing days and times you are available to work must accompany the completed application.
- Respectful and friendly customer service skills are required.
- Good attendance is crucial.
Nice To Haves
- Good communication and active listening skills as well as attention to detail are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assisting users at the circulation desk
- Processing library materials for checkout and return
- Shelving library materials and performing collections maintenance tasks
