About The Position

Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC) is a legal entity, created and wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), a federally recognized Indian Tribe. WDC is committed to fostering the development of a stable, diversified economy for members of the Band which will contribute to their long-term wealth and economic self-sufficiency, while managing risk and creating quality employment opportunities. WDC is the holding company of an investment portfolio consisting of commercial real estate, Federal operating companies, and commercial operating companies. Waséyabek is seeking an experienced Federal Recruiter to work with Human Resources and the Proposal Development Team on a wide variety of essential positions needed for a specific purpose. This position will support Waséyabek’s rapidly growing Federal Business line. This role requires leveraging your creativity to find cleared and uncleared technical talent, helping staff positions in multiple locations, spanning a broad array of skillsets - supporting funded work, new business growth, and proposal efforts. Waséyabek’s Federal Recruiter is a dedicated, detail-oriented, self-motivated, trustworthy, resourceful, and creative individual who continues to expand on staffing and management experience. An ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator who has the ability to work well as a part of a team as well as autonomously to effectively perform and complete all required tasks. Candidate will liaise closely with the Waséyabek’s Federal Management Group to understand the qualifications of the proposed positions, and source the best candidates in the Federal market. While the WFG group is located in Grand Rapids, MI, this position is FULLY REMOTE. As a critical member of the team, candidates should possess the following qualities: Expert in discovery, pursuit, closing, and retention of candidates in the federal market. Highly proficient in all aspects of full-cycle recruiting. Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Capacity to work independently and efficiently under limited supervision. Strong writing and oral communication skills in English required. Experience recruiting for government contracts proposals. Preferred experience recruiting for Small Business, 8(a) entities.

Requirements

  • Have at least 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting top technical talent in the federal market, with a keen focus on diversity & retention.
  • Have at least three (3) years of proven experience successfully sourcing and strategic resourcing CLEARED technical talent (Secret/TS/Q/L clearances).
  • Have demonstrated success in developing and executing innovative Sourcing and Strategic Resourcing strategies.
  • Expert knowledge of Applicant Tracking System (ATS) tools to effectively manage candidate pipelines with efficient processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of recruiting techniques and sourcing strategies, and ability to research new tools and resources.
  • Strong sourcing approach with ability to dive deep into searches for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with hiring managers, interviewers, HR, and other team members throughout the hiring process.
  • Sharp interviewing skills with ability to screen and assess talent for both technical and soft-skill qualities.
  • Strong project and process management skills; must be able to multitask and bring tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to provide sound advice to hiring managers based on subject matter expertise and being comfortable interfacing with senior hiring leaders.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, with a sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience recruiting for small business, 8(a) entities.
  • Prior experience recruiting for union positions and Department of Energy federal groups
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Psychology, or other related field preferred but not required
  • Prior experience with a Native American culture and Native American hiring preferences.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for searching/recruiting a number of subject matter experts by following standardized processes to screen and select the best candidates and ensure compliance with all governmental and client employment specifications including daily rates, salary verifications, and education verification.
  • Conducting intake calls with hiring managers to understand the position requirements; advising on job descriptions to ensure they accurately portray the positions.
  • Suggest ways to improve Waséyabek’s recruitment efforts by creating, enhancing, and updating internal processes.
  • Work closely with senior team members to develop and maintain job descriptions for available positions.
  • Conduct and schedule interviews and follow up on references of selected candidates.
  • Collaborate with the HR to ensure all necessary staffing documentation is obtained and retained.
  • Maintain communication with candidates to keep them updated through the hiring process.
  • Research and recommend new sources for hiring personnel to enhance recruiting practices.
  • Leverage creativity to find cleared and uncleared technical talent, helping staff positions in multiple locations, spanning a broad array of skillsets - supporting funded work and new business growth.
  • Prepare recruitment materials, and post jobs to appropriate job boards, social media, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships while working to generate a strong list of candidates.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition Manager to plan and implement participation in virtual and in-person recruitment and hiring events.
